    This is approximately a 3 mile hike through wooded hills, swamp, and over a lake. Ramps are over wet areas. Since this is a nature preserve, DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Those who prefer may go to Bostwick Lake Inn afterwards to socialize/drink/eat. This hike is done along with the Grand Rapids Hiking and Adventure and the West Michigan Ski Club Meetup Groups.

    This is a mixture of a hilly wooden area, open grassland, and dunes with a stop on Lake Michigan. Option to hike some of the north trails after the south trail so we can get 6-10 miles in. We will do this along with the West Michigan Ski Club and the Grand Rapids Hiking and Adventure Meetup Groups. Meet at the westside of the township parking area by the mansion, not the state park parking area. Recommend to bring water. Those interested will go into Saugatuck to enjoy the rest of the day.

    At this time the park is usually full of trillium, bluebells, and other wildflowers blooming. This hike is in moderate wooded terrain for 4 miles beginning at the north end of the road. You may park in one of the small dirt lots or in the paved area next door and we will meet in the paved parking area. This hike will be done along with the Grand Rapids Hiking and Adventure and the West Michigan Ski Club Meetup Groups. Afterwards, those who choose will go to Westside Social to eat/drink/socialize.

    Annual Spring Fling TGIF

    Main Street Pub in Allendale.

    Our annual Spring Fling TGIF at the Main Street Pub in Allendale is Friday May 3. Social time/ appetizers/ cash bar will start at 5:30 and the band Yacht Rocket will provide us great dance music from 7:00 to10:00.

    This event is for Ski Club members and guests only. Admission is cash only $5 for WMSC members and $10 for guests accompanied by a  member. 

    Please register so we have a count for food.

    Join us for a weekend of fun camping and paddling July 19-21, 2024. Just 45 minutes north of Grand Rapids!  FULL DETAILS ON FLYER BELOW

    Camp reservations:  Reserve online through Sandy Beach newaygocountymi.gov (pick Sandy Beach option) or call 231-689-7340 off season or 231-689-1229 starting May 1.  The Oakes Cabin is where coffee/bonfires and Saturday night potluck will be.

    Please register here for food and equipment rental (if needed).  Also gives me a head count.  

    If you prefer to just go canoeing/kayaking on Saturday, that is fine also. Optional dinner out Friday night 7:00 pm at Northern Trails Bar & Grill.

    Registration $5/members or $7/non-members covers paper products, meat for Saturday night potluck, and morning coffee (breakfast food on your own).  Kayaks are $30 and canoes $40.  If canoeing with two people, one will register for food and canoe and the second person for food only.
